To Black Americans the word Conservative is a key word racism
By Sinclere Lee
WASHINGTON (BNW) Charles Barkley is taking a lot of heat for telling the truth on these racist white Christians. Its incredible how most white Christian in America profess to be Christians but are devils.
After slamming so-called Conservatives as "Fake Christians" former NBA all-star, now an NBA announcer for TNT, Charles Barkley has a unique take on conservatives and Republicans. In act, he questions their faith.
To Black Americans the word Conservative is a key word racism!
Not only does Barkley questions the religiosity of white Christians, most Black Americans and the rest of the world question their belief, too, in the ways of Jesus Christ, as well. How can they be that stupid? Either they dont know the Bible and the life of Jesus, and thats fake
or theyre big lying hypocrites who are in league with the devil. Thats rotten!
Barkley appeared on CNNs February 15 The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, not to discuss basketball, but to discuss who he is supporting for the 2008 presidential election. Barkley has said he was once supportive of the Republican Party because he believed Democrats wanted to raise his taxes. Now he has changed his tune and has adopted a very hostile tone calling Republicans fake Christians.
I don't like the way the Republicans are taking this country, Barkley said. Every time I hear the word conservative it makes me sick to my stomach because theyre really just fake Christians, as I call them. Thats all they are.
However, Blitzer followed-up at the end of his interview with Barkley and asked him to elaborate on his fake Christian claim.
Well, I think they want to be judge and jury, Barkley said. Like, Im for gay marriage. Its none of my business if gay people want to get married. Im pro-choice. And I think these Christians, first of all, theyre not supposed to judge other people. But theyre the most hypocritical judge of people we have in the country. And it bugs the hell out of me. They act like theyre Christians. Theyre not forgiving at all.
So why is Barkley so adamant about supporting Barack Obama for president? Barkley said it was economics.
Well, you know what, it wont affect me at all, Barkley said. But what I really said was Im rich like a Republican. I never voted for a Republican. Im actually an independent. But, Im supporting Barack because I have to look at the big picture. This country is divided by economics between the rich and the poor and Im going to support him all the way to the wall. I really like his chances right now.
Barkley told Blitzer he wasnt worried about any feedback he would get for making those comments.
They can't do anything to me, Barkley said. I don't work for them.
Barkley said he was planning to run for governor of Alabama in 2014. He reiterated his views on social issues, but didnt say how he would campaign in a socially conservative state.
Former NBA star Charles Barkley, who is not known for his timidity when it comes to discussing his political beliefs, will surely be ruffling right-wing feathers with his latest comments.
Barkley, currently an NBA commentator for the TNT network, appeared today on CNN's 'Situation Room.' When asked by host Wolf Blitzer about his views on the presidential race, Barkley said he didn't want to see the Republicans win because they were 'fake Christians.'
The comment came after Barkley was asked his reasons for supporting presidential candidate Barack Obama, rather than Hillary Clinton or any of the Republican candidates.
"I've got great respect for Sen. McCain, great respect, but I don't like the way Republicans have taken this country," said Barkley. "Every time I hear the word 'conservative,' it makes me sick to my stomach, because they're really just fake Christians, as I call them. That's all they are."
Blitzer moved on to a different question following the comment, but later followed-up at the end of his interview and asked him to elaborate on what he meant by "fake Christian."
"I think they want to be judge and jury," Barkley replied. "Like, I'm for gay marriage. It's none of my business if gay people want to get married. I'm pro-choice. And I think these Christians, first of all, they're not supposed to judge other people. But they're the most hypocritical judge of people we have in the country. And it bugs the hell out of me. They act like they're Christians. They're not forgiving at all."
Barkley also explained why he was supporting Barack Obama. "When I look at him, he represents everything that's good in the Black community," Barkley said. "He's intelligent. He's articulate. You know, most of our role models are athletes or entertainers. We've got to get more Black kids to be educated, carry themselves with great class and dignity. He's perfect for what we need. We've got so much black-on-Black crime in this country right now. We've got a lot of kids not getting their education. That's why I'm supporting him."
The Transcript:
BARKLEY: Hey, I live in Arizona. I have got great respect for Senator McCain. Great respect. But I don't like the way the Republicans are taking this country. Every time I hear the word "conservative," it makes me sick to my stomach, because they're really just fake Christians, as I call them. That's all they are. But I just I'm going to vote Democratic no matter what.
BLITZER: What about you in politics? At one point you were thinking of running back in Alabama. What do you think?
BARKLEY: Well, I just bought a house in 2007. And in 2014, I promise you I'm going to run for governor of Alabama.
BLITZER: And when will you run for governor of Alabama?
Did you catch that?
Barkley says: "And in 2014, I promise you I'm going to run for governor of Alabama."
The next words out of Blitzer's mouth: "And when will you run for governor of Alabama?"
What an incredibly stupid question!
Blitzer schoched at the statement?
It seems that someone must have been talking in Blitzer's ear, telling him to ask a follow-up question on Barkley's "fake Christians" remark. and he should have asked Barkley to elaborate more. Perhaps Blitzer didn't find Barkley's statement to be outrageous becuase it's not.
BARKLEY: 2014. You have to have residency for seven years. And I bought my house at the end of last year. And I will be eligible in 2014.
BLITZER: All right. One quick point before I let you go. You used the phrase "fake Christians" for conservatives. Explain what you're talking about.
BARKLEY: Well, I think they they want to be judge and jury. Like, I'm for gay marriage. It's none of my business if gay people want to get married. I'm pro-choice. And I think these Christians -- first of all, they're supposed to be they're not supposed to judge other people. But they're the most hypocritical judge of people we have in this country. And it bugs the hell out of me. They act like their Christians. And they're not forgiving at all.
BLITZER: So you're going to get a lot of feedback on this one, Charles.
BARKLEY: They can't do anything to me. I don't work for them.
BLITZER: You feel comfortable saying all that?
BARKLEY: I feel very comfortable saying I'm pro-choice, and I'm for gay marriage. Very comfortable.
BLITZER: But you can't lump all these conservatives as being fake. A lot of them obviously -- most of them are very, very sincere in their religious beliefs.
BARKLEY: Well, they should read the part about they're not supposed to judge other people. They forget that one when it doesn't fit what they want it to say.
BLITZER: All right. We've got to leave it there, Charles.
Thanks very much for joining us.
BARKLEY: Thank you for having me.
Barkley also reiterated a claim he has made before regarding his intention to run for governor of Alabama.
"I just bought a house in 2007 and in 2014, I promise you I'm going to run for governor," Barkley said. "You have to have residency for seven years. I bought my house at the end of last year and I'll be eligible in 2014."
I feel very comfortable saying Im pro-choice, and Im for gay marriage very comfortable, Barkley added.
